Rafting is one of the most popular adventure tourism activities in the world. Traditionally belonging to the sphere of multi-adventure, it is an ideal sport for everyone which consists in going down rivers on board inflatable rafts with a capacity of 6 to 10 people. The raft then goes down the river navigated by an experienced monitor or guide who has knowledge of the surroundings, making good used of the rapids and currents to assure an unforgettable experience for the group.
The difficulty of the rafting depends on the conditions of the river chosen for the activity. Generally speaking, it is a dynamic multi-adventure activity which allows the group to get into contact with nature, and whose duration depends on the stretch of water chosen by the group. The rafting experience begins with a safety briefing by the monitor, in which, amongst other things, the group is told how they should sit (at the sides of the dinghies, to which they are held by anchoring attached to the floor of the boat), the correct rowing position, or how to rescue a team mate who has fallen into the water.
In Andalusia, white water rafting takes place on three rivers: the Guadalfeo (in the Granadian Alpujarra (Granada province)), the Genil (in Cordoba, in a stretch in the city of Granada and in Cuevas de San Marcos, in Malaga) and on the Guadalquivir (in the Cazorla Natural Park, in the province of Jaen). All three offer good conditions for white water rafting and are ideal destinations for business incentives, stag and hen parties, school programmes and to enjoy contact with nature. They are also perfect for birthday celebrations or simply for some adventure time. Rafting in Benameji and rafting in Granada (Guadalfeo) are our two specialities.
